The 2025 Foolhardy Chardonnay

Our first Chardonnay from the Gamache Vineyard is lithe, fresh and floral, with a mouthwatering array of lemon curd, pear and warm croissant flavors. Fermentation in once-filled oak imparts generosity to the texture, and salt and chalk nuances carry through the aftertaste.

Like all Foolhardy wines, this Chardonnay is fermented with native (not added) yeasts. Wonderfully versatile with food.

Gamache Vineyard:
Located about seventy-five minutes northwest of Walla Walla, the Gamache Vineyard is an outstanding site to grow Chardonnay. Situated at up to 980 feet altitude, it has a southeastern exposure and cool conditions that promote steady ripening of white varietals. Our Chardonnay comes from Block 2, which was planted in 1990, making it one of the older Chardonnay vineyards in Washington State. At Foolhardy, wines like the 2025 Chardonnay are the reason we seek out older plantings that deliver added intensity and tension to the wines.
